How does the single cup work?

After the coffee is roasted and ground it is wrapped inside a filter pouch (similar to a tea bag) in 10 gram servings. These single serving pods are then sealed individually to make sure each cup will be fresh. Special coffee brewers accept these pods, and each pod makes one cup of fresh coffee in about 1 minute.

How are your pods different from those available in stores?

Our pods contain 10 grams of the highest quality coffee available. Most pods in stores only contain 7 grams of coffee. This causes the store bought pods to brew a weaker more bitter cup. Additionally pods from stores are not individually wrapped. Because of this, the coffee begins to go bad from the moment you open the package. Exposure to oxygen makes coffee go stale, giving it a chalky taste, even if kept in a freezer.

How much does it cost?

Single cup pods and brewers are surprisingly affordable. Colonial Coffee Company will supply brewers to any business account at no charge. People interested in single cup at home can purchase a machine from Colonial Coffee Company or from many local department stores for as little as $30.00. The coffee comes in a case of 108 pods.
